You can't be much more than a stone's throw from my place.

Glad to hear you had some luck and the empty meat hooks will always be there. 100% success can only be found at the grocery store.
Mine are all in the freezer and I'm making jerky, sausage and other delicious treats as time allows. Maybe I'll swing by Chickenbuck with some goodies this weekend.
Good luck and be safe to those still at it.

CF, great toast to Grizzly Bill. Thanks and I'll do the same.

Very nice tribute to Bill. I've thought a lot this season about hunting companions who are no longer with us, makes me very thankful for every season I get to share with friends. this thread allows for that year round, I really like that.

well after a hard hunted bow season I ended it this morning with a 45 yard shot on a dry doe. took out at least one lung and put a gash in the heart. she piled up within view of me after going maybe 30 yards. my personal furthest archery shot and I am very pleased with the result. I'm gonna be busy butchering on sunday that's for sure! I have 4 deer in the garage right now and another 2 likely by saturday noon. mama will hopefully get one of them, and the others were given to me by other folks who don't like the taste of venison but like to hunt. can you believe such a thing?

That was a great toast. Thank you very much for that.

I have met Grizzly Bill. We have been on plenty of adventures together. Bill and I lived a about 15 miles apart and we fished together on almost a weekly basis in the summer before I moved back to MN.

Bill, my son Jack, and I also took a few jaunts a year driving to different gun shops in WI, scouring them for deals. Bill was a fan of fine Ruger firearms. We would also hit the shooting range a few times a summer together. It was smack in the middle between our houses so it was a great place to shoot the breeze, a few targets, and grab some coffee.

But if there is one thing I'm 100% sure of from our friend Bill is that he couldn't get enough of deer camp. He prepped for if from December to November. He was SO excited to share a camp with his grandson Wyatt this year. It is his first deer season and he gave up a guided trip for a chance to hunt WI with grandpa. There will be an empty deer stand near Winter, WI this Saturday gentlemen. Raise your whiskey to our friend Grizzly_Bill.

Modern firearm season is over here and archery starts tomorrow. which I made a bad choice and never put in for the multi season tag this year. So my son will have to try to get him.

That is a pig of a buck. Hope your son gets a crack at 'em! Post pics if he does!

Very observant Busch-meister! I had to think about that one!

I have decided that the chest freezer could use another deer. Anyone ever hunt the Rapids Lake unit of the MN River Valley Refuge?
