Need a load for my AR using 70gr Berger VLD's. Was shooting Win 748 but have ran out and cant find any. Got a shelf of 70gr Bergers but no powder. Please share your favorite .223 load using 70gr bullets even if it's not an AR...

You have 5 potential winners right there.

I'd load up a groups worth at the suggested minimum and head to the range to see what it likes.

I use TAC and benchmark both for those bullets but I would think everything you list on hand with the possible exception of H380 would work wonderfully

I'd be trying Varget,RL15 and H4895, but I would expect Varget to shoot well if your rifle is solid!

Varget has been doing very well for me, with rem 7 1/2 primers..

25 grs. of TAC and CCI SRM primers also rocks..

Haven't put them over a clock, but they dope at 3,000 fps in a 22" barrel.

Pretty much the same for the TAC load.

Ymmv..

Just coyotes.. I really want to smoke some deer with them.

I think Burns might have used them on some big game.

70 grainers out of a 243 or bigger will kill yotes like you wouldn't believe.
223 shouldn't be that much different, although I once shot a coyote at 400 yards with a 50 gr. BT leaving the tube out of a swift @ 3900 and it just bounced right off.

Seriously. laugh

3/4 inch exit, through the ribs, haven't put one into the shoulder yet. I don't shoot for fur, so I don't know if that's good or not.

I really need to send some into some WT's..
