Looking for some information here- I am going to be putting a Ruger Mark I 22 pistol up for sale and I don't have a clue as to how much to ask ofr it. It has the heavy barrel, 5 3/8 inch or very close to that and walnut target grips. I don't have the box. There is some blueing sear on the end of the barrel but it is in very good condition with no dings. I just had it disassembled, cleaned and inspected by the local gunsmith. What is a fair asking price for this handgun?

Also, when selling a handgun out of state, what's the best way to legslly ship it?

Thanks in advance.

Search gunbrokers under completed auctions and you will find out what they been selling for.

You can ship it via UPS or FedEx overnight to the buyers FFL which is VERY expensive. Second option is for your local FFL dealer to mail it in a flat rate box. If your dealer doesn't charge that much it might be the best way to go.

WOW!
I have always been surprised at the high asking prices on Gunbroker - Just did a search and it appeared as though few of those guns actually sell- Lots of auctions ended with "0 bids".

That's why you search under completed auctions to find the selling price. Asking price is useless.

I would guess about $350 to $450 without the box and some wear. Many FFL's require a pistol to be sent from an FFL. It is "Legal" to ship it yourself, but many FFL's will not accept one from an individual.
