I like them much more than the Encore. I wonder if there are spare parts available. Didn't the tooling for the 83 burn up?

Yes, the story is the fire in the late 80s destroyed everything that TC used to make these. Would love to find a 32-40 barrel.

Great rifle. The 7 RM will light you up when you shoot it, though.

Very nice. I had one for a number of years in .30-06.
The secret to getting it to shoot accurately lies in the way you hold it. Grasp the forend with your off-hand and pull back and down firmly into your shoulder. You will see a dramatic improvement in group size. My best friend, Uncas, has one in 9.3 x 62 and it requires the same technique to get it to shoot accurately.

I had an 87 in 223 with unbelievable wood. I never could get it to shoot consistently-one group outstanding, the next mediocre. The poster above has some good points as this can be the case with many break opens. It was an interesting concept but I don't miss mine. I can see it being much more useful as a walking around rifle than the way I tried to use it as a bench rifle.

I've got one with .32-40 Win and .375-06 JDJ (by SSK) barrels. I want to find another frame so I don't have to swap barrels back and forth. Here's some meat collected with the .32-40 barrel a few years ago.

Yeah, I saw those. Too close to Christmas right now but after the first of the year I might be in the market. I want another one with the latch type forend. My first TCR had that and was stolen. My current has the screw forend and I've seen a little too much variance in point of impact when swapping barrels with the screw forend. I figure since custom TCR barrels are a thing of the past, I won't be getting additional barrels so my two barrels might as well have dedicated frames.
