I'm looking at the following scopes ;
Trijicon accupoint 2.5x10x56 or
Swarovski z3 4x12x50 with BRH reticle or
Leopoldo vxR 4x12x50 ballistic fire dot

I'm leaning towards the leupold but have never looked at the others. I will be using it on whitetail deer out to 500 yards (mabey) smile
It will be going on a weatherby vangaurd 2 in the 257 weatherby mag cartridge

I have a VXIII 4.5-14 with BC reticle on my 257WBY. The reticle with my load gets me to 665yds without touching the turret.

Works for me.

Mine carries a Bushnell 4 1/2-30X50. Why limit yourself?

I own the VXR 4-12x40 Firedot with a cds knob calibrated in MOA. I like it a lot. Keeping the knob in MOA allows to change the drop chart for changes in load or destination.

I think a Leupold VX-6 3-18x50 would be perfect for the 257 bee.

Great choice. Without parallax adjustment but lighter weight is the VX-6 2-12. I have the Z3-4-12x50 and like the VX-6 2-12 better. Longer ER, better eyebox and better duplex reticle. It's 30 mm vs 1" and slightly heavier than the Z3. Both are around the same price.

My next Swaro will likely be a VX-6... smile

I have a 4.5-14x40 Leupold with CDS dial w. 300 yard zero that is good to 900 yards. Works pretty good, pretty damn accurate. One turn of the dial, zero stop, no computer progams to f. with. Just sayin smile.

Yeah, the CDS is the best elevation turret deal on the market, IMO.

I like the yardage version if I have one load that I intend to stay with. Simple, no drop chart needed.

With rifles in which other loads may be used, the MOA CDS is probably the best bet. You'll need a drop chart for each load.
