BTW MD, hope you got back with you check book intact. I know how it was when my daughter got married.

Missed this post, sorry didn't mean to ignore the question. I live in Cullman county and do the biggest part of my hunting here in county. I used to hunt more in National Forest and WMA land but can't afford the gas and have too many health issues to get around much anymore. I went for a walk on my property yesterday but it was cold and windy so I didn't see anything.

I got this one last weekend, wish there were more around here.

Phillip, really nice pic.

schoolmarm, nailed a nice 100 lb. field dressed doe this am. My son gets home for a couple day hunt Mon./Tues. If I get one more, that will be more than enough for me and mama. Then, back to the limb chickens.....grin

BTW, I almost froze my azz plum off this am.

Here's a pic of the doe i took today. Gun was a CVA Scout, 44 mag. Load was Hornady FTX, one shot, bang/flop. grin

Congrats on getting some bulk for the freezer. Now you can go do some real hunting. smile

Buddy wanted venison, so I dropped him off, hiked a couple hills over and got pot pie fillings. Gotta find a recipe.

And learn to make elegant photos.

4-8 on shots, 3 clean redheads, and one I twitched the right way and hit the spine.

Well, my son showed up at the butt crack of dawn to go deer hunting. It was COLD and windy. He had his mountain climbing/cold weather gear and was prepared for it. I wisely stayed in the truck.grin 2 1/2 hrs. after he got out there[9 am], I heard one lone shot. He got his meat deer for the yr. About 135 lb. field dressed, basket racked 9 pt.[if ya count every bump on it's antlers grin ]. I was proud as hell of him for taking the cold. We did a 2 man push on a couple other woods, to no avail. Think I'm done deer hunting for the year. Too dam*ed cold for this old man to set out.

One shot from his H&R handi rifle, 44 mag.

Side note, between the two of us, we saw 10-12 limb chickens moving around. I had one come down to within 3 ft. of me while I was standing behind a tree, on one of the two man drives. Gonna clean up my 44 mag, and break out the 10/22, soon as this weather warms up a bit.

very nice deer and a fun time with your son. What's not to like? Our rifle deer season opens Sat and the whole HeeHaw gang will be here. Need to get 2 more "freezer" deer before Sat. Will have to dress for the weather Sat, 70deg.
One more time, what's that white stuff? hehe

Soon, veddy veddy soon. cool Wish the flash hadn't glared off of the receiver, spoiled both pics.

I was going to go back out into the woods, but it keeps coming rain showers ahead of a big front with some thunderstorms in it, so that's probably it for me today. BUT it was a great morning nonetheless! smile

Your shotgun pictures make me want to grab my 1968 Belgian Browning A5 20 gauge and hit the woods! As a kid I thought dads A5 was the most wonderful gun in the world and could never miss. And in dads hands it seldom did!

raining hard here also. Hasn't bothered the squirrels. They've been feeding like everything out of my wifes bird feeders. They may have to go into the pot..

PN has the nicest squirrel shooters no doubt.

Weather has been crazy. Down to 20 then today up to 60 with rain. Wanted one more meat deer for the freezer but settled for a fryer.
