Anybody here pick up anything not really that collectable? I mean my 99e in .308 is pretty common, I've also got a Coast to Coast branded Savage pump shotgun...been thinking about adding a Stevens/Savage(pre lakefield) 22 auto, just for kicks. Maybe a model 170 sometime in the future. Guess I just like the odd stuff.

The Model 340s are starting to have a following I have noticed.
The Model 170s in 30-30 show up every now and then, the 35 REMs are pretty scarce I am told.

Sure, I've got a few miscellaneous Savage guns that I've picked up when the prices are low. Why not?

Some may consider all of mine not all that collectible, but these probably would stand out from the rest -

101 pistol
489 Savage/Westpoint single shot lever action 22
170B in 35 Remington
720 12 Gauge civilian
720 12 Gauge US issue long barrel
1921 12 Gauge pump
24S-D 22 over .410
A Page-Lewis model 50 counter stamped Springfield with a SVG logo
1905 B (shotgun butt instead of Swiss)
... and one, if it weren't for it's beautiful flowing lines, would possibly be considered totally noncollectable - a Savage model 6 based Gambles Pioneer 27-A -

I've got eleven 99s, two 45 Super Sporters, one mod.840, one 23C and one mod. 40 plus a Stevens Ranger and a 24F.

None are collector grade which, for me, is a good thing. I get to play with them as much as I want. :-)

I am an accumulator that enjoys the history and learning more by hanging out here.

I have a few 340's, 342's 6's, 99's and 110's. Only a couple might qualify as "collector grade". They are however fun to shoot and hunt. Looking to add Super Sporters and 29's to my collection someday. Not many come up locally.

I've got a M99 in .284. I consider it an, "other" Savage. Even though it is mint, I wouldn't say I consider it a collectible. I've had it many years and it is the only post-mil sick I have ever owned. I doubt the previous statement will ever change wink

I've owned several Savage .22s, a couple Model 45 Super Sporters, etc. Now it's mostly 99s and a couple Model 20s. Also have an auto pistol in .32 and a Savage Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge double.
