33 above zero. No coats, funky Micheal Jackson glove liners or ear muffins needed. I don't have a river, or an island, or a cool story like Sammo. But second day of late deer come along, and I popped a goofy fork-ed, funk-ed, [bleep]-ed up whitetail. Yesterday the game warden was out at the ranch checking out my bird operation. We jumped a whitetail buck outta a thistle patch, and he ran to the creek bottom. I joked that if I was faster, he'd be writing me a ticket for chooting from the truck with no orange on. I went looking for him after the copper left, but couldn't find him. This morning while feeding, I seen a deer flit thru the trees. I went below where I thought it'd be, and run into a couple does followed by this guy. He never gave me a real good look, but I saw mass.
