Posted this on the gunsmith board but no bites:
Loaned my pro hunter slug gun to a buddy this past weekend and when he cocked it to try and shoot a doe the trigger would not pull, it would not release, and it would not open. I took the stock off and took the springs out, released the trigger and was able to open it up and unload it. I put it back together and it did the same thing again. I have not had a chance to completely tear it down but was hoping someone on here might have a suggestion. Thanks

I've got one and have read my fair share about them and have never heard of this exact problem. Misfires have been common with steel hammer extensions. And it's a pretty well known fact the factory hammer spring is on the weak side. I would shoot an email to bellmstc or EA Brown to see what advice they may have, or even send it to TC to have it checked out. On this platform, I'd be quite concerned about it tho from a safety perspective much less the functional aspect.

My guess as well. the locking lugs make it all happen.
Never try to teach a pig to sing...

Make sure the over travel screw inside the trigger guard isn't screwed in to far and keeping the trigger from releasing the hammer sears. Could be that simple.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

What about the stock, has it been changed. I have seen Contenders refuse to fire with the stock bolt too long.

I've had this problem using bolts from the hardware store. Solved it using 2 small washers.

Same here on the remedy check the bolt stock length.
