I have a guy wanting to trade me a Marlin 444 - it has the JM stamp on barrel. It is in very good condition, with no visible handling marks. I think it was made in 2005. What kind of realistic value would it have? Not sure if I will keep it or sell. Thanks for any info.

Mine was made in 1981, and I purchased it in the fall of 1981 for $219 at Mill's Fleet and Farm in Osseo MN...
wouldn't sell mine at all... passes to my son when I pass on...

Thanks for the info. I think I may trade and see if I like the "big bore levers".

A rifle like that generally runs around $550. I have bought two 444s in the last 30 days.
The 444 Marlin is a great round out to 200 yds. I zero mine at 150 yds.

444 ammo is spendy, unless you reload to get the best out of the round.
