I thought I'd post some photos from this year's hunting season and earlier in the year, fishing. Both my sons have been hunting and fishing with me almost from the time they were born (9.5 and 11 years ago, respectively). They are both accomplished fishermen for their ages, and are working on being good shots !

This year is the first year that 10 year old kids can hunt big game (after passing Hunter Safety class). My older boy was excited to get to go this season. We had been practicing all summer with the rifle he used to take his first deer.

The next weekend, we took his best friend out to get his second deer in two years. He used my 1A 7x57...150 gr NP over 51 gr of H414. Over-penetrated...

Had fun dragging it out, too. About a mile over hill and dale...

Nice shot placement ! About 110 yards or so off of his knees

I'll throw in some gratuitous fishing pics from earlier this year, in no particular order.

And in fact, we did catch some fish !

Doing my part to make sure the next generation gets outside and hunts and fishes.

Fun times! I also cherish time spent with my kids hunting and fishing. Nothing beats time outdoors with family.
Thanks for sharing.

They did a great job. I had to help them on the last half of the drag out of a very steep creek/canyon. The clay was really slick !

Plenty of effort for sure. I wish they had been along with my GF and I were dragging out our deer in the dark on November 30th...

Here ya go...pardon the "Blair Witch" cell phone quality.
