The good old days seem to be gone forever for beautiful wood on the # 1's.

At this point, I'm just grateful they are still making #1's.

And glad I have the ones I do.

Beautiful wood for sure! But, my newer, UGLY WOOD #1 in 45-70 is a shooter and a keeper. It is more accurate than I am and if I scratch it in the field, I'm OK with it. Some of the wood in the above pictures would be hard for me to take hunting in the bush.

This big guy has decent wood on it. Not great, mind you, but pretty decent.

.475 Turnbull, less than 100 made, is what I was told by Turnbull.

It shoots, too:

My 7x57 RSI gets used more than anything else. It's accounted for 2 moose and a few deer in the past 2 years.

I hate the 2X4 wood they put on No.1's lately.

Like this 2005 RSI in 7X57.

And this 2009 Medium Sporter in 9.3 X74R.

How many f*cking times are you going to keep jacking yourself off and posting this rifle over and over and over?

You posted about it here:

And here:

And there seems to be no particular purpose to these posts other than to pat yourself on the back and seek some kind of validation from strangers. You're not responding to anyone's questions or specific query. You're just trying hard to pleasure yourself.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

#1's have always been a cheap way into a pretty rifle...
