About 15 - 20 years ago a writer did an exhaustive test on bullet performance. I felt the testing was very well done. However, many of the bullets tested then have been discontinued, usually due to a good reason - poor performance. Through the school of hard knocks I've found bullets that tend to blow up and not penetrate or go through game without expansion. From that school, I've formed strong opinions and I like the bullets I now use. However, there are a lot of bullets that are now available that I know little about. I've never shot a monolithic bullet for instance.
Hereby, I would like to request one of you writers to perform a bullet test that would be primarily the new bullets (last twenty years is new to me). Even if you only picked a couple of calibers say, 6mm, 7mm, 30, and 35 would be my choice. The other in-between calibers could correlate.
If you were to pick one caliber, 7mm or 30 would be OK. Thanks for the consideration.

Somewhere I still have that chart and yes it was a good one. Because of it I ended up trying the Speer 180 gr Mag Tip in a 308 Norma Mag and found it was indeed a great bullet at a great price. Worked well in 30-06 as well. It would be neat to see a new version.

I'm glad to see the cast bullets. I don't have a rifle w/o a mold for it. I even bought a mold for my 264 about 45 years ago. I still have the mold, I think.

Try the link below. It is primarily 30 caliber bullets with a smattering of other calibers thrown in but the results are pretty interesting. Cow femurs wrapped in meat...pretty real world.
