Got a 5.56 1-8" and a 300 BKT 1-7". Love 'em. Can't wait to shoot......hopefully this Friday. Weight difference is in the scopes and suppressors.

The 5.56:

And the 300 BKT:

I've really been looking hard at the 300 BLK version the last couple weeks, dying to hear your range report. What can is pictured on it? 9 lbs seems porky for a rifle that started out under 6.

The Superchicken 6x and the ACC 762-SDN-6/Flash-hider mount add the weight.

I have a YHM Titanium on order that will cut the weight about 1/2 lb.

I'm hoping for a LH Ranch rifle in 300 BKT.

I agree. These are my first RAR purchases. Nothing, save maybe the threaded 6.5 CM, has really tripped my trigger until they introduced these Ranch models. I just wish they would make more stailness rifles.

I could live without SS to keep it on the cheap. What did the bare rifle run you?

I would love to have the option of a LH RAR compact or ranch! I'd order one as soon as I found out about them for my son. A ranch with a compact stock would be perfect I think.

$385 for the 5.56. Prices will settle down some, but I wanted one now. The 300 BKT was more. I've only seen a few and they go fast.

No idear. Had a few Tikka's. But didn't pay enough attention to know. The American's have a wedge type aluminum? bedding blocks fore and aft. Seems the Tikka had a lug that wasn't attached to the receiver. Correct? Hated the ergo's of the Tikka plastic. Seems it kicked like a mule for light calibers like the 25-06.

Just curious about the suppressors. They use them quite a bit in RSA (south africa),and am wondering where you get them here, and do you have them registered with the Dept of the Treasury. Also what are they costing.

$200 tax stamp and a long wait for approval. Buy the suppressor at your dealer, but you can't take it home until you get your approved Form 4. Get fingerprints and passport photos. Get your chief LEO to sign off on it. Send it in with your $200 check to the ATF and wait. I waited as long as 10 months for a 22 LR suppressor. But wait times are down now.

If you form a trust, no fingerprints or passport photos or LEO sign-off.

Suppressors (223 and 308) run anywhere from cheap to $1200 or so.

I have a Predator chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor and a Ranch chambered for 300 Blackout.

Still haven't shot the Creedmoor, but I have piddled around with the Blackout. So far I really like it.
