Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am looking for a top notch gunsmith in southeastern Pennsylvania, who does a first class job of re-barreling 1898 Mausers. Also, I am looking to have bolt handles TIG welded on the Mauser bolts.

Is there anyone you can recommend?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chris Bemis

Probably the quickest way to locate a 'smith in the area is to check the American Custom Gunsmith Guild roster by going to their website.

Why are you limiting yourself to local buiders?

Perhaps would rather be able to walk-in rather than hassle with shipping.

Not sure how close it would be, but I have had Bob Green in York recommended to me by a retired gunsmith who said he's the only guy he would trust to touch his guns beside himself. I spoke with him on the phone once a rebarrelling a rifle, but sold that rifle and went a different direction.
His website is greensrifles.com.

Thank you all.

I received a separate referral for Sid Goodling in York, Pennsylvania.

I spoke with Sid yesterday, and I will use his services to rebarrel a 1908 Mauser action for me.

Sincerely,

Chris Bemis
