I decided to go squirrel hunting yesterday morning and took my Foxpro Scorpion along to try and call a Bobcat that we have seen in the area during deer season. I was using my LH Anschutz Model 64 MP in 22 Long Rifle. I never saw a Bobcat and only saw one squirrel at day light. By 0900 i hadn't seen another squirrel, even tho Muzzle Loading a couple of day before i had more than 10 squirrels around me by that time at the same spot, i think they can smell a 22 rifle. So i decided to use the squirrel in distress on my Foxpro to try and get a squirrel to bark , less that 10 min and i was watching a dam big coyote that was standing 10 ft from the call looking for the squirrel he was thinking he was hearing, i never saw him come in. One shot to the neck and he dropped in his tracks. I didn't have my camera so no photo and i hate that. I was using the Federal 36 gr HP 22 LR. shot was about twenty yards. Can't believe i left my camera home. Here is a photo of the Anschutz, by the way the rifle did have a 26 inch barrel but i shortened it to 22 inch to make it easier to get around in the woods with . This rifle amazes me how it will stack just about and brand ammo into just one ragged 22 cal bullet hole at around 35 yards which is my sight in range for squirrel hunting with my rimfires. PS: I won't forget and leave my camera at home the next time.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

I have a wooden dowel I tape under the barrel to fool them. Carry rattling antlers...throws them off. I use turkey decoys during deer season, too.

Most excellent bea175! Sounds as if you may have had an adrenalin rush. Really nice rifle.
