I had a T3 in 223 and used the factory rings with no problems.

How will they do on a 243? What say you?

.223/.243 don't foresee a problem. I personally never liked them. Once Weaver made bases for the T3, I use those exclusively with Warne rings and NEVER have a problem with any of the chamberings..... good luck...

Keep the base screw tight, and you shouldn't have a problem. I put a DNZ one-piece on my 30.06. It confines ring placement but I'm using a 2.5-8x36 Leupold, so it has a pretty short tube to start with.

If you want to keep the weight down, I think that Talley and DNZ are okay. If you looking to stretch the range, I'd look for a rail with some built-in MOA. There's a current thread about the Burris two piece XTB steel bases with choice of rings. They do make a Tikka XTB base.

I've read posts where problems are solved by replacing the tikka screws w/high quality fasteners.
I've got more than a few rounds through my 300 win mag t3 w/no apparent troubles w/the standard issue...I may do a hardware upgrade soon just cause its cheap to do. On the other hand I do like a dnz mount on another gun.

The recoil pin on the OEM rings started to migrate (i.e. push right through the ring body) on my Finnish Tikkler in 300 WSM. Replaced them with Maximas for $30.

For a 223 or 243 I wouldn't worry too much about the OEM rings. I'd worry even less about spending $30-40 for Maximas... once and done.
