You're being a bit modest - having hauled a couple packs loaded like that, I guarantee it sucked. Its OK to say that  I'm also surprised the 308/155 bullet didn't bounce off. Did the elk know you were stunt shooting? <G>

Nicely done Tanner.
When they first came out years ago I had a Montucky in 325 that was the cause of my worst pack out. Those light rifles have a way of doing that.

Boned quarters, backstraps, loins... I don't mess with neck meat or rib meat much though I probably ought to.

I need one of those Montuckys. If they would just put the 260 into the regular lineup. I could slum an '08 tho. Years ago, had a grizzled old WY outfitter (my campsite neighbor) see me coming off the mountain with a similarly loaded pack. He side-stepped his quarter horse off the trail, leaned on the saddle horn as the leather protested the shift, fingered the brim of his hat back a bit, spit some tobacco juice and declared, "We've got horses for what your doin'." I laughed and apologized for not stopping to chat for fear of getting stuck.... I only weighed one Elk, Average Bull,all 4 quarters, hide on, ribs in and split between the 4th and 5th, legs whacked at the knee joint,,, Your typical quarters that are put into panniers on Horses, total weight for the 4 quarters and loins were 386, Your 110 is just surprising to me I guess. Bulls/Cows are different sizes obviously, but I wouldn't expect that much difference, Hide and Bone do make a diff, And you fit it all in a 4500 Kifaru?

Tender vittles indeed and for a $41 tag, pretty cheap other than sweat equity. CO does not require rib meat or neck meat to come out, I never liked rib meat anyway.
