It is hard to tell what they are in the boxes... But they are two of the new Ruger .327 Federals on the Super Six frame, with slightly different barrel lengths. Now I have to decide which one to shoot and which to hold back for appreciation. I figure in a year Ruger stops making these, and then a couple years after that NIB ones command a modest premium.

How's the fit and finish? The early lots of these had some serious quality control issues, as several threads on the Rugerforum demonstrate, so counting on appreciation in value may be premature.

Neither of mine have the QC issues that are discussed on the Rugerforum, although I have not shot them, and some problems (like the loose base pin) only become apparent then. I will say that the grips are under-sized. Unless Lipsey's keeps extending the run, I think they will hold their value. No more than 1000 were made in each barrel length at this point.

Lipsey's may extend the run, as they did with the 44sp Flattop; I bought two of those when they came out and they're cheaper today than they were then

Utah, I just recieved my 5.5" single six 327 yesterday. Haven't shot mine yet either, it appears well finished and made. I too believe if Lipsey's stick to the production numbers the value will increase. Just check out the prices of used 32h&r single six's. I intend to use the hell out of mine and any appreciation in value will be a bonus.

I don't, see New Model Ruger's appreciating much, Lipsey's or not.

I dunno, the SP101 in .32 H&R commands a premium. Not wacked out, but some.

I don't, see New Model Ruger's appreciating much, Lipsey's or not. Not if the factory adds them as a standard item like they did the flattop 44 Special. But if they don't, besides the single-six 32 Mag., look at the 357 Maximums, the much more recent 327 Blackhawks (which may have come down since the intro. of the super-six), etc. Jerry

Love my (er, my wife's) SP101 in .327 Federal Mag. Would love to get a Single Six in .327 Fed to go with my Blackhawk .357 Mag.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.
