I loaded chrome and find it to be meh.

I got different problems when using chrome. The key board wont stay available, and i ahve to stop it working to type.

But by loading chrome, safari has been sped up and i have less problems.

Its a crap shoot, cluster fugg if you ask me.

The "apple" again casts mortal, curious man down and out of paradise eden

I have all of the same problems on my ipad. In addition, when I'm on my desktop machine, there's constant data going back and forth, even once a page seems fully loaded. I'm guessing it's something to do with the way the adds are displayed? It started doing this several months ago.

The site is basically unusable on my Ipad. Constant reloads, sometimes never completing a page. I've been through all the cleanups on my end that I'm aware of to no avail.

The only difference to my equipment is that Adblocker was rejected by Apple during the last version update. That's the message I get anyhow.....

I have downloaded Google onto my Ipad. I open up 24 HC in Google, and the problems have gone away. On my desktop, I run AdBlocker Plus, no ads, no problems.

I gave up strip clubs when I started in the Ministry.
Tell Susie hello, please.

A browser for I-phones/pads. You can get it in the App Store. It helped on my I-Pad.

I give up. After repeated tries to get this thing to work on my iPad, all I get is :
- the same lack of performance, seize ups, etc.
- irrelevant suggestions from onlookers (not web administrators -where are you?) about all sorts of fixes to my iPad when the relevant fact is MY IPAD WORKS GREAT ON EVERY OTHER SIMILAR SITE EXCEPT 24 HOUR CAMPFIRE! Get it?
- other irrelevant thread hijacking. Why don't you go somewhere else with your verbal masturbation, if you wouldn't clutter a legitimate request for help from the webmaster maybe he could cut through your clutter and provide some real assistance.
Enough of this b.s.

Nobody has been able to come up with a solution to this mess yet?

Perhaps Bwanas ordinary pad couldn't handle his flow that day. Poor soul, he was just too high strung is all....

We all have problems with the iPad, and only specifically on this site. But we persevere.

But the recent suggestion by Bighorn to run it thru Google has helped a bit. I sign on thru there and it seems to cut the lock up hesitation, and bouncing out and such.

No other suggestions unfortunately. Shhhhh dont tell anybody thats not interested in crowd sourcing a problem to solve it.

Were not here to talk to each other and share knowledge.

I know less than little about these gadgets but I had my brother download that $5 adblock app for my Iphone that people recommended...
I had every bit of the problems you guys are experiencing, prolly worse..
It cleared up everything and now I can roll this site with no problems.

If it wasn't for the wealth of helpful and interesting crap and people on this site, I would have abandoned it within a month of signing on. Rick B apparently knows that is the case. The revenue of the over the top advertizing and pop up stuff is worth the complaining we do, because not many of us are willing to actually cut ties and leave.

I'm relatively new here, but I believe that is basically the situation in a nutshell, big bwana. The info here is worth the hassle....right up until the day that it is not.

Guys:

Right now, unless 8.1.3 is much better, the Mercury browser is the workaround. This is a widespread problem, and Apple is aware of it. I was advised to use Mercury instead of Safari by an Apple rep. Also, my iPad 2 was replaced by Apple due to the i0S 8 "upgrade."

This will get you going cleanly with Mercury in 30 seconds:

Click this link:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mercury-web-browser.../id331012646?mt...

Click the icon with the cloud and arrow, and it will download.

Open.

Top right hand corner, click the three-line icon.

Click Settings.

Click "Popup Options," select "Block All Popups" and click "Settings" again

Scroll down and click "Extensions"

Turn on AdBlock.

Click "Settings."

Click "Done."

Got to Campfire and log on.

Goodbye Safari.

Please let me know if that helps.

Thanks Rick! I've been plagued with the same problems on my iPad mini. I wasn't even able to post using my iPad. I'd get a post partially typed up and then the dreaded error message appears informing me that the page had to be reloaded and my post is erased. Painful to say the least. The GOOD NEWS is that I am posting this message from my iPad using MERCURY browser configured as instructed by Rick above and so far so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just FYI: iPad running OS 10.1.3

Also, be sure to make sure that the Adblock extension is turned on in Mercury's settings. It is not automatically on by default.
