Dr. Dilip Joseph was on an NGO aid trip to Afghanistan when he and two locals helping him were kidnapped. Eventually split up the writer was ultimately rescued by SEAL's. Interesting read. Poignant in places. Sad-tragically so- in others.

Might want to read "A House in the Sky" by Amanda Lindhout as well. Author is from a town very close to where I live and was kidnapped when doing journalism in Somalia.
