My BB gun quiet ammo is so wimpy, I have to place the shots on little rodents.

Huntsman22,
What sight is on that lever action?

clarkm,

Not quite as long as yours, but long, like 29".

Long barrels with low bang ammo, really quiet.

Yard is still infested. Got a pup today, bit another one good but he got down a hole. Left a blood trail and I saw that it passed thru.

We have shifted from gophers to prairie dogs for our daily hunt.. The dogs loaded up in my summer varmint truck and we were off for the mornings hunt..

We found quite a few dogs this am.. Here is Kate bringing back one of the big ones.. She has to make a few retrieves to feel part of the action..

Then about 11:00 it got pretty hot.. We had shot about 50 dogs, and Kate and Peach said it was time to head in, have a cool drink and a nap.. Sounded like a good idea.. It is a tough job keeping these varmints under control, but someone's got to do it..

I did some trading and got a new to me varmit killin machine. Just put the scope on yesterday and bore sighted in the basement. Grabbed 4 leftover reloads from a box of mix and match reloads just to get it on paper, all 4 tore a ragged hole.

Nice grab.

I like the Wood stocked Americans but if I were to buy a 527 Varmint it would be the Kevlar.

And that's saying something because that's the only synthetic stocked rifle I even think about buying.

What's she chambered in?

Another year or two and the rest of that black paint should fall off.
What's under it'll buff out nicely.

Field, Mtcm, bought that truck new in 1984.. First one I ever owned.. Been a great vehicle.. Now just use it for short hunts near home.. Plan to knock some of that old paint off and camo it again.. have a good one.

Field, it's chambered in .223 but part of the reason I got it was because you got me thinking about the 17FB and I thought she might get rebarreled one day but that's going to be hard to do if it keeps this up. Not to mislead anybody, that group was only 50yrds shot from the back patio table between rain showers, but it was 1/4" center to center so that's still 1/2" @ 100 with some leftover rounds that I think were loaded for one of my ARs. Just thought I was going to be getting it close on paper after bore sighting but that's where the first rounds hit with no adj. so good enough! I'm liking the CZs now after the 17hornet I got a few months ago and now this one, I wished I hadn't waited so long to try one....guess it was the backwards safety and the box mag. that kept me away wink
I like the walnut stock on my 17H but this Kevlar stock has a nice feel to it too.
I'll post some varmit pics as soon as something makes the mistake of coming into the field behind the house!
Wyo, we've got an old nisson pathfinder for a hunting, fishn, and trapping truck, I bought a gallon of OD duck boat paint from Cabela's I think for $40 or less, it has held up extremely well.
