What is a reasonable price for a 500 brick of 22 ammo?

Buying or selling? Apparently there is a huge difference.

well, Midway has 500 round bricks of CCI std velocity for $39.99, available in stock, as of this moment. And 11 types of Eley and RWS match ammo in stock.

I've managed to pick up 2-3 bricks of CCI high velocity ammo at similar prices in the past few weeks, and I now have plenty for my needs.

I've noticed many of the big retailers have started putting out ammo in the middle of the day, on weekends, so people with jobs actually have a chance to buy it.

Sportsmans Warehouse here has been doing that since last fall. Then they open at 9am on Saturday, everything they have for ammo and reloading is out on the shelf. Nothing else will appear until the next Saturday. You don't have to keep checking back but the line can be pretty long on Saturday morning.

i can find the 525 box of fed champions at wally world for $24.99 when i get lucky. the 225 of goldens is $11.99. but it is still real scarce, but not as scarce as its been.

$20.00. The sky high prices we are seeing right now, will go down eventually. Scalpers still trying to do their thing and hoarders still emptying the shelves. They will get their fill, but it's up to us to not give in and pay the high prices. I'm still seeing bricks in the stores (on occasion) for $19.97-$24.00

The whole thing makes me uneasy. I believe in capitalism. But have never been one to be a "dealer". Just sold a friend 92 hornady 154 spire point 7mms. The sticker on the box, 1988, was $8.75. We called it $9 and I insisted he look them over because they had gotten dark, not green, over the last 26 years. I know what they cost new but feel charging based on that, to get rid of my stash, is gouging. We all have different standards on different topics.

I paid $24 for a brick of 500 and was simply curious if it was inflated. It was simply the cheapest I had seen it.

Probably at a Cabela's. I also paid that much for a brick of Federal/American eagles (400 rounds) at Cabela's a couple months ago. Generally around here the local bi-mart and wallyworld, you'll see bricks selling for $19.97. That is the cheaper Remington golden bullet ammo though (525 value pack).. The federal bulk ammo is about the same price... I also bought some Federal automatch at our LGS for $19.00 a couple weeks ago, but they are a 325 round count.

I was at a SW yesterday about 10am. The clerk had 3 bricks of different types of 22LR that he was putting on the shelf for $23.99 each. My brother grabbed one, I took one and another customer grabbed the other before the clerk could walk away. It doesn't sit long.

Just paid $4 @ BassPro for 50rnds of CCI (not stingers)

I paid $23 for a brink of 300---CCI A/R solids. I was happy to get them. Limit of 4. It was a $100 bill with sales tax.

I bought three 500 rd. bricks of mini mags last week for 40.00 a brick. Also bought three 225 packs of golden bullets for 11.99 each. Was at a gun show today and everything was still 70-80.00 a brick. I guess the greedy bastards don't want to admit the shortage is over and there has been ammo on dealer shelves at normal prices pretty regularly for the past couple months.

I burned up 500 in the last couple weeks. Finding more on dealer shelves every week and have 6,000 on hand so no worries shooting some up.

I hope this madness soon stops. Will run out of 22 that was bought before this mess. Next summer might get tight. Have a pile of 22 bullets sitting around, might have to spent more time with the bigger 22's.

It sure doesn't. That will eventually get better. When I was at my LGS and they had a bunch of the federal automatch on the shelves. They asked If I needed any and I said, no I'll let them sit for a day so someone else that really needs them has a chance to buy them. I went in a day later and they still had about 10 bricks left and I bought 1 box since my 10-22 and Ruger MK1 and MKII pistols love them... I rarely shoot my 22's, as I find them extremely boring. Shot dump truck loads of 22lr as a kid. Big kid guns are more appealing now days...
