My outdoor life came and they had an ad for the new benelli 828 O/U and its a pretty cool looking modern gun if you can accept it...
BUT...
I got turned off when they showed the field shot of a man and women pheasant hunting and it was Lee & Tiffany L.. I haven't watched their show much, but I don't think they do much bird hunting and think benelli marketing missed it. Benelli probably hopes the Crush golden touch will sell shotguns, but I always thought the performance and quality of the product sold itself. Just my opinion.
What's other people think of this newest entry?

Haven't seen one but eager to see how they fit that inertia system in an O/U. Don't see much tv, and wouldn't watch hunting shows if I did, so I have no idea who those folks are and wouldn't let that affect my desire or lack thereof for a new Benelli regardless.

I am eager to see this gun with full specs. In spite of the expected modern "Benelli" styling. I think it could be a winner if they keep to their other specialty, making light weight shotguns. I'd love to see this come come in around the low 5lb mark in a 20 gauge 28" barrel.

I haven't seen it yet and can't seem to find a picture or price for it. I do agree with the OP that if Lee and Tiffany are used for marketing on this that it is a little weird IMO since I have never seen either one hunt with a shotgun before this.

I have two Benelli semi-auto shotguns and like them a great deal, but not this O/U so much. It's just a personal thing, the styling just doesn't appeal to me.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I actually like the way it looks but those rubber comb pieces bug me. A hundred years from now there's no way to replace it. That won't be MY problem, so I'm not sure why it bugs me, but it does.

You are right about the stock peices and that applies for "current" models too. I had a HK benelli montefeltro that I couldn't buy new stock parts for because they changed slightly and didn't support the older stuff.

Deflave - correction - it looks a little more like interbreeding between a benelli ethos and browning cynergy.

Was Tiffany in a tee shirt?
If not, then I've seen all I need to see.

Nope. She is in a under armor upland vest.
I've seen her in a t-shirt at a Whitetail classic show and she certainly rocks the C-cups well.
I should apoligize that Lee & tifany sponsoring because they sell the dream of women and your spouse going hunting with you, but its the whole hunting show endorsment / sell out activity. The only thing worse is those gay Michael Waddel "bone collector" stickers on stuff.
The gun would appeal to someone who is not turned off by the browning cynergy.

Ugly shotgun in my opinion, buy a Beretta

Good write up in guns and ammo. Informative on the inner workings and differences between the new 828 and traditional O/Us. Seems there is some fantastic engineering too it, the action breaks open smooth as silk from the factory and the lockup should never wear like a traditional break action.
Enjoy the hunt while it lasts!
