I bought this a few weeks ago with the Vari-X-III AO for $1000 and am pretty happy about that. I cleaned it up, got the bolt jeweled, installed some Talley's and brought the stock back to life.
I'm ready to see how it shoots now with a variety of 130gr TSSX loads. I trade guns a lot and hope this is a keeper.. Any .270 criticism will be considered jealousy. smile

Congrats on a good buy ! I have the same in Left Hand. If you decide to trip that one, let me know. I have a couple Right Handed grandsons who would appreciate a nice light 270.

It had a spray can camo job and some sort of unknown bubba texture as well as dings. Cleaned all the crap off with lacquer thinner and sanded and filled the dings. Minor dings got bondo and a couple got acraglas. I used duracoat for the finish because it air dries. I tried to match my other KS, but this is a bit darker. I put a top coat of Duracoat Duravelvet. It has a bit of texture and is made to feel tacky, although it isn't sticky. I've had that stuff on my muzzle loader for a few years and it works good. I prefer cerakote, but don't like baking stocks. Fortunately, the bluing is pretty nice. Thanks

That's a very nice looking rifle in a great caliber & you got it for a very good price.....Congrats.

The KS stock pattern, IMO, is the absolute very best feeling & fitting synthetic style ever built.......the only thing better might be to clone the Dakota 76 stock style into synthetic.

Here's a KS, also in 270, with the stock cerrokoted. Needless to say it's one of my two most favorite rifles.

Thanks.......that rifle, like most KS's, just bugholes.

Weight is 7,4 as shown.

Let us know how yours shoots; I've got several 270's & had several others & RL-22 or Norma MRP under most any bullet that you like almost never don't work.

Waiting for the weather to warm up so I can work on some loads with the Nosler LR Accubond 150 gr. bullet.

Couple of questions about the KS:

1. What is the bare weight?
2. What contour is the barrel?
3. Who makes the stock?
4. Barrel length for magnum and non-magnum cartridges?

Nice rifle OP, looks like you done a great job on the stock.

Drooling here Ken. Your work is great as usual. I suspect you have a bughole gun there.

Very nice, I love the lines of the KS and only wish there were more of them north of the border so I could find one in 270/280. The only ones I have seen have been magnums.

I'd not want to deal with one in a magnum. The only one I owned was in .35 Whelen, and 250 grain loads were quite a bit more than I cared to deal with. shocked

Sweet rifles, nonetheless.

My KS in 280 weighs about 8ozs less than yours. Some may be the scope as I don't have AO. Is yours loaded?
