Well Dan, I finally finished Battle Of Fortune Wells, and must extend another kudos for a well written novel. I'll admit the cavalry vs. Indians westerns aren't always my favorite, either in print form or movie...........so I wasn't sure how I would like this novel. While I still prefer the setting and pace of Long Shooters better, I think you masterfully told both sides of the struggle between the settlers/US Cavalry and the various native tribes. You didn't pull any punches for either side, and I appreciated that. It was a complicated time in our nation's history, and I think you gave a very fair interpretation of the recorded history.

I sincerely hope you're busy writing another book as your attention to details, history, and intelligent dialog makes for very enjoyable reading. I've read your biography and insights on your homepage, and agree that your life experiences play a very significant role in your ability to write a quality novel.

I'm going to post a copy of this on Amazon with another 5 star rating.

222,

Saw the review, but didn't notice this message until now. Thanks a ton for the review and letting me know you enjoyed the book.

#3 will be a departure. It's not a western or a historical.

It's done and will be out probably in the next month. The premise is the resurrection of the old OSS, but under new and modern management. It will not be constrained by domestic or international laws against an occasional violent act. Plus the protagonist is a real smart-azz. I hope to make it a series.

It will of course, occasionally butt heads with the department of homeland security.

Thanks again for the review.

Best to you.

Dan
