Im getting tired of google play popping up.
Can't hardly read anything, cuz it keeps reloading and going back to the top of the page.
First site to visit.
None others have problems as this place.

Mine constantly crashes on two separate iPads. I close the feedat the top before the page downloads entirely to prevent the crashing. It works some of the time. No other site does this.

Crow, I had the same problem. The fix is to download Mercury web browser and turn on ad blocking inside of it. Hated browsing this site before that, now it's great.

Might be worth seeing if there is any ad blocking built into Safari, I didn't look too hard into it.

iOS 8.

Apple replaced my iPad 2 last week because the upgrade nuked it. My iPhone 5 sucks now too. On here, Drudge, and everywhere else.

My replacement iPad is running 7, and it works great, just like it did before the "upgrade."

Google "iOS 8 sucks."

Like I said, my iPad 2 got completely replaced.

I'm still running version IOS 7.1. I figure that's why I don't have problems here on the Fire.
I'm sure glad I've never downloaded IOS 8.

Usually happens after I have finished with a longwinded post and before I can hit the "submit" button. Then I've got to start over.

Yes. A browser.

Google "Mercury Browser". Press "get". Wait for it to load. Then Open. Click the settings button (looks like three lines), block popups, turn ad blocker on

Goodbye Safari.

Try try, please.

Why do we have to jump through these hoops to use your forum?

Is this older forum software that is basically defunct? How many releases are there past this one? Are they better?

It's funny, but just as I was reading your post a problem occurred while loading the page. I'm running Safari and Yosemite, on a MacBook Air.

Just FYI, and because I think it's useful for you to know this, I'm one of those who are experiencing these problems on the Campfire pretty much constantly now.

This is the only site - I haven't been to all the sites on the internet, admittedly - but this is the only site that I've been to on the internet, where this is happening to my computer.

It's annoying, and it results in my spending a little less time here, but as of right now I'm not inclined to change my browser just to deal with a quirk that I suspect you will eventually fix, by and by. grin

Mine was doing that with chrome and safari. Tried the Mercury, and with pop ups blocked and the ad block turned on (in extensions) it now works perfectly.

More than a few times last week, I was automatically redirected to the app store for some app I think was called GILT, had to close App Store, close safari and the 24hr page, then could reopen for an hour or two before it happened again on multiple 24hr forums.
None in the last two days, haven't upgraded to 8

Once you get the Mercury browser, go up to the puzzle piece looking thing and hit it, go to "more" and turn on Adblock

It will make your keyboard quit disappearing

I had that with Chrome AND I E . I switched to Firefox and adblocker+ and I have no problems on my laptop.

But... I log in on each visit. And I keep Adobe disabled.

Why should the people generating your revenue have to jump through hoops to generate your revenue (log in and click)? No other sites have issues resembling anything close to what your members have repeatedly complained about here. Repeatedly. Over and over again. And over again.

It's obvious that your non-moderation is all about revenue, but now your asking us to jump through hoops to deal with the revenue driven method of non-moderation. That takes balls, I'll give you that.

I had to log in 3 times to post this. iPhone6-Safari-No issues anywhere on the whole dang interwebs but here.

Somebody email me or call when this stuff is fixed, or when everybody gets fed up and jumps ship for somewhere else.

Maybe Rick can't afford to fix the problem on his website (if there even is one) because everyone that uses his website is using adblock, and not even seeing the ads that are supposed to be generating income for the website.

I had the same problem. 2 IPads and 2 iPhone 6's. I went to the Apple Store and they suggested I upgrade my IOS to 8.1.2. The previous upgrade was 8.1.1 and caused some problems. 8.1.2 helps rectify those problems. To see if there is an upgrade available, go to Settings, go to General, go to Software Update. If you see that there is an update, back on out. Update your device through iTunes so you don't chew up device space.

Connect your apple device to your mother computer. Open up iTunes. Click on device symbol in upper left hand corner. iTunes should recognize your device and a window prompt should appear that there is an upgrade available for 8.1.2. Follow the instructions form there. It will take some time, but your device should run smoother.

FWIW, I run Chrome and the wife runs Safari on ours.

So weird having a problem-free interface with the Fire using an Apple device. This will take some getting used to.

no, but what I learned so far is... if you spin on your head three times, lift your right leg at 30*, hold your right arm out with your index finger pointed to the east, add a different browser, 6 types of ad blocker, .. you will be just fine.

Oh and BTW...it is all your fault. How many campfire guru's have told you how to fix this problem. wink

Hi Guys:

Working on this.

Is it any better this morning? Most of this stuff only appears to certain folks and so it is hard to pin down.

Please let me know.

Nope - it's worse.

On the iMac, it keeps telling me it fails to load the page, and asks if I want to send a report to Apple. I get that message about 15 to 20 times every 5 minutes.

On my iPhone, it won't load beyond the 1st page of hunter's campfire, or keep me logged-in for more than 3 minutes.

Sat down to breakfast this morning and saw the jar of jelly on the table. Reminded me of this place and the damn Jelly Splash.

I got so mad I punched Birddogs wife right in the mouth.

Thanks for the tip about the Mercury browser. That is the BOMB! Lightening fast and very stable so far.

Solution to the cursor issue with Mercury is to minimize the keyboard, then tap in the box where you want the cursor to appear, then the keyboard comes back up and you have your cursor.

Not going to read all 11pages, but AdBlocker is the key to smooth operations on an IPad. The free version has a very short trial period, but for $2.99 or $3.99 you can run the Fire like a gazelle. Well worth the investment if you want to hang around here.
