Who all is loading TSS? This will be my first year. I'm going to load the 20 ga. 2 3/4" 1 5/8 oz. right now. I may load the 1 7/8 oz. load once I get going. I can load just about every 20 ga. load that Hal offers now. Finally found some Lil Gun and ordered it today. Got 11 pounds of TSS #9's waiting.

Contact Reloader7RM. He has a lot of experience reloading turkey loads with TSS. Ronny is always willing to help if you have a question.

I really want to give it a try, but haven't spent the money/time yet. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Let me know if you have any questions. I've been loading 12 and 20 for several years.

Actually loaded some today.

I found it easier to weigh the shot and buffer load it all together.

That's a heck of a start.

Be glad to help out with any questions. Most of all, remember that consistency is the key to repitition with shot shell loading. I'm pretty anal with my turkey loads and try to do everything exactly the same for each load.

I've been reloading it as well for a while now. Welcome to the addiction.

A couple of pointers:
1) I used about half the buffer Hal calls for unless you want them really tight. I've noticed the less buffer used the more open my patterns.
2) If you have a brass tumbler used for rifle reloading, it really helps get the buffer down the the shot once you dump it in.

I tried vibrating the buffer in with a battery powered razor but it was taking forever. I now just weigh the shot first then add the buffer to the shot and then it's all mixed together. Seem to be pretty even throughout the shot. Do you think this will be a problem?

What is the purpose of the buffer? To just help with holding the pattern together?

It's a 3" 20 ga. load. I decided to stick with the 1 5/8 oz. 2 3/4" load.

I was looking at the stuff to get started today. Other than the shot it's pretty cheap.
Where have you guys found to be the best place to get the shot? What are current prices per #?
