Who makes a 4X scope that is lightweight and reasonably priced? Doesn't matter if it is matte or shiney blued.

Light weight and reasonably priced...
Weaver K4 849415 4 x 38 comes in at around 9.8oz and can be had pretty fairly priced.

Leupold FX-II. 9.3oz and $299 for a new one. If you are ok with gloss you can get the standard duplex.

Paid $100 for a Nikon 4x32 in Realtree. Stuck if on a Handi-Rifle because I wanted to keep things light. I think they are discontinued but a shop here still had a couple.

Leupold, of course.

If you have a short action Remington, then a new Weaver will fit great; on other actions not so much.

+1 I always keep a spare, just damn good glass and can usually be found for under $150 shipped. Bought one from Amazon couple of weeks ago for a touch over $120 with free shipping.

If you don't mind used, a Leupold M8 is a good choice.

New or used leupold M8 would be my first choice. An old steel tube weaver k4 costs less and works quite well too.

I currently have a Nikon Buckmasters 4 x40. If I read here correctly I believe this is one of the more heavier 4x scopes!
