Wow, I didn't know Nosler Cerakoted bullets!
Call the Proshop 541-312-2506, give them the lot number, and they will make it right for you.

Thanks for the phone number, was going to call them Monday. Not cerakote, but I think they left them in a direct flame oven way to long. Really pretty colors like you would get from heating shiny copper with a torch. My pic sucks, maybe this one will show it a little better. is that going to affect accuracy at all? or is it just a cosmetic concern...
If it is a concern, I have a batch of 55 grain Varmaggeddon I'll swap ya, that aren't discolored...
I doubt if the sag rats that will get sent to that big alfalfa patch in the sky will notice the difference..

Hope the holidays were good to you. As far as the bullets I will check with Nosler but think it's just cosmetic. Just don't really like to pay retail for what actually should have been seconds.
I guess should have known as 55 BT's are about 25 a 100 around here so the 37.00 for the 250 box should have been a flag. Damn sure do appreciate the nice offer though. I will let you know what Nosler says. If nothing else than to find out if they had a goof up or if the LGS bought some seconds and put retail price on em.

I've bought a lot of Nosler seconds. I've never seen any discolored to that degree.

I've shot close to a 1000 (40gr version) of these in my 22-250 and never seen anything close to that. Looks like you got a box of seconds that didn't get marked as such. I'm sure Nosler will make it right.

They shoot lights out for me, whether tipped or hollow point. I was loading 40 grain .22 caliber Varmageddons one day, and picked up a bullet, went to seat, and the bullet dropped into the case. Turned out there was a single .20 caliber 32 grain in that box. Emailed Nosler with the information from the box, and they sent me 5 replacement bullets.

Last update, 6 emails and 6 phone calls, always to busy to answer. Finally took the 60 that were dis-colored put them in a alcohol bath, swished them around for a few minutes, wiped them off and they shined right up.
Loaded up a bunch for the swift will see how they do. Nosler's customer service leaves a lot off the table. No where near Sierra, Redding, RCBS and a lot of others. Definitely going to effect my bullet choices from now on.

It was the black dye used in the packaging that was causing the problem. The formula has since been changed.

They said that it was actually the solvent used to make the recycled "green" paper for the box gassing off and affecting the color of the jacket. Was told to polish them with a rag, or tumble them.  Still it took a month to get any answer at all. Not good! I got better and faster responses back when snail mail was king. CS could have been a lot better, and as stated Nosler is now a question mark in what I purchase. Thinking Sierra is the way to go even if it costs me more. Thanks for your post.

Personally have found that the 55 BK shoots every bit as good as the 55 BT. So the plastic tip really had no bearing. The Varmageddon looked interesting due to the flat base, and the price. If they shoot good and are 33% less than a 1000 lot of BK or BT then cool.

My Swift hated them, my 12 twist 223 wasn't bad but the 14 twist stunk. Good thing they were cheap.
