I scouted on public land close to home for 20 miles. I never kicked up a rabbit. I saw a few squirrels and kicked up a grouse. Very poor. In my back 3 ac. there are rabbits. I actually shot one today and my son got one a few weeks ago. There are more rabbits and tons of mice since the hawks disapeared. Two hawks would sit all day long in the oak tree last year and we never got a rabbit. Up north there used to be snowshoes but christmas I walked 1.87 mi before cutting a snowshoe track and a coyote track right along side of it. I do have to say though, the grouse numbers up north are actually very high. Pheasants are gone too.
