Pac-Nor builds a 9 twist/308 cal

either a 3 groove or the more common 5 groove...

10T/5G is most common...

Hello Guys..I'm working on a hunting rifle Micky Coleman built for me in a 30-06. I was torn between that caliber and another 280 AI. I was a bit nervous about the 30-06 at first as I've always been a fan of that caliber but now glad that I settled on it.

I finally got the Berger 168gr VLD's to shoot somewhat out of my 1:10 twist. last group I shot @ 200 yds was 1.440 I'm hoping to tighten that up a bit. I'm jammed .010 into the lands. Next trip I'll try .015 and .020 into the lands. I tried jumping them but my rifle didn't seem to care for it.

I just got 2 rem mag sporter contour .308 barrels in from Rock a few weeks back. They are 5r 9.33" twist. I wanted to try something just a little faster than a 10 twist. I'm planning to use one to re-barrel my 30-06 but I'm going to sell the other one if someone needs one.

Try the Berger Hybrid.

Whitetail Gunshop in Rauchtown builds .30 magnums with 1:8 twist and great results.

I did a 1-8 twist Shilen 300 Win., but the reamer was fubar'd and my gunsmith passed away before he could get the new barrel and reamer in.

Shot it to 300 yards once but the chamber junked the brass.....

Thought about the hybrids... Right now I'm loading hunting VLD's.... I want to smack a fat doe in the pumper with one to see what the hoopla is all about.
