Just inherited a bunch of old guns, that really have little value. Old Single barrels, doubles, few worn out 22 pumps, etc... Really do not want to have to try and sell them individually. Are there any decent charities they can be donated to? Appreciate any ideas you fine folks might have.

Thanks,

Wait til a cop buyback happens and sell them there if the voucher is good enough. Or give them away to the boys out troop.

Just sell 'em.

Put an ad up here, plus shipping and they will go someone that will teach their kids to shoot, or give one to a grandkid.

You have no investment, and everything is blue sky already.

I will echo what was posted above, some of those old pump 22s may surprise you. Have someone knowledgeable take a look at them.

I plan on putting mine on consignment. It costs ~ 15%, but you don't have the hassle, and you don't lose all that much. I'll echo what has already been mentioned about the 22 pumps, and the doubles may be worth something as well.

Why don't you inventory them with make, model, description, condition, etc. and post here on the Fire.

Same here. I just happen to be in the market for an old 12 ga. or 20 ga. single shot, that is safe to shoot. Dont care what the choke is.

Dont have to be pretty, the uglier the better.

If it will break apart, that's great. Ship it in 2 separate boxes and you dont have to go thru a FFL (I believe thats right. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

The reciever will still need to go through an FFL.

People are always trying to dump Winchester crap built before 1964. Don't be a sucker. Let me sift that out for you.

Ain't tryin to be a stick in the mud but I'd give them or even throw them away before I turned em into a "buy back" program..

I can't stand reading about those publicity stunts and how many guns they "got off the streets". I don't wanna inflate their BS numbers more than they already do

Picked up this old Savage 20 gauge for the princely sum of $35 cool

Other than being too old to have a serial number if there's anything wrong with it I ain't found it yet.

OK guys. It will probably take a week or two, because of everything after the funeral, but I will try to take a picture and have someone post it of some of them. There are two storage sheds full of stuff I have not looked into yet so there may be more there. Appreciate everyones thoughts on this.

I tend to be the broken/old/inherited firearm disposer in my family. If there's a gunsmith school in your area consider donating to them.

A guy I know messaged me with a picture of a couple of old Marlin pump .22's in various stages of disrepair and missing parts. I thought he was going to buy them when he asked me what they were worth. I told him that he could always get his money back if he didn't pay over $100. No he said, I 'm trying to sell them to you. Crap, Ok bring them over. I bought them for $75. I screwed around with them for a couple days on and off an almost had one working, but they were pretty much junk IMO. I put the pair on GB as parts guns and sold them for.............. I think it was $540 plus shipping. I hope the buyer was as happy as I was.

Dropped one of my lever guns at my local gunsmith's place Friday to add a few parts I picked up for it. He had a few guns out front in a rack he was trolling. One was a 1930's .22 pump that was in decent shape that he had reworked. Another was a .30 cal carbine that was also in decent shape that he'd reworked.

$750 for the .22 pump. $1250 for the M1 carbine that was nowhere near the quality of mine.

So, you may be surprised to find out what you have. If you don't need the cash real bad, I like the Boy Scouts idea. smile

if any of the 22s are tube fed magazine they can not be used in boy scout sanctioned shooting events. only single shot or detachable magazine type used with only one round at a time may be used.

OK folks, here we go. 1st, I am not a professional photographer, shipper, gun appraiser, etc.. But you asked for it so here is the list of guns I have located so far. All guns are tight, lock up as they should etc. but many have pits on the barrels, etc...

1. Stevens 12 ga single barrel. Has two chips on the side of the release lever that someone tried to fix with epoxy. One fell out but the other is in place. Not big and do not affect shooting. I have shot this one.

2. Stevens 12 ga. Has had the barrel hacked off to 18 inchesand some really neat (not) bubba designs on the stock. Have shot this one.

3. Winchester Model 37 12 ga. Thinking about keeping this one. (I hate to get rid of guns but already have too many)

4. Marlin 1894 32.20. Almost certain this has been re-chambered as the 32.20 mark looks like it is over a previous mark. Action is tight and works well but it will fail to chamber a round about once in every 10 shots. (suspect worn parts in the action) This one is mine and I originally got it for SASS shooting but replaced it with a Winchester 1892 Short Rifle -that is not for sale :-))

5. Stevens Model 350 Double. Shoots fine. Only issue is a broken butt plate.

6. Stevens 22 pump s-l-lr Locks up nice and tight but I have not shot this one.

7. Remington 32 rimfire. Not sure of the action type but no doubt you guys are. Big ding on the barrel where it looks like someone had it in a vise at one time.

Any advice you guys could give would be appreciated. Again, I am not interested in trying to ship anything that would sell for less than 100/150

Thanks..

Sorry guys, AT&T is here working on my connection and had to take me down for a while. I do have a cell phone shot of the guns if someone will post for me. Just send me your email. Also have 4 trashed out handguns (look like true Saturday night specials, that someone might need a grip off of, etc. Again, have a pic of the 4 if someone will post.

Thanks guys.

OK guys, here are 4 old beat up pistols. Parts guns only in my limited experience.

1. S&W think it is called a lemon squeezer? Has the bar in the grip you press or it will not shoot. 32 cal I believe.

2. F7W Forehand Looks like 32 cal. would not turn and 1 grip is chipped off at the bottom.

3. H&R 38 Grips ok and does turn

4. Young American Double Action. Don't think I would have shot this when brand new. Looks like it is made out of pot metal and the cyl is cracked. Grips are just fine though.

None of these are worth shipping, paying FFl etc. but if anyone can pick up local and use the parts, just let me know.

Thanks,

Ray

Hope I have responded to everyone who sent me messages. If not, please let me know. Things are still crazy around here after the funeral and will be for several more weeks.

You have all (as per usual) been very helpful in educating me on what I actually have, which is most appreciated.

Deal fell through on the Marlin Model 94 in 32.20. If anyone wants it $400 face to face or $450 shipped from my FFL to yours.

Thanks,

You can text me more pics if need be, and I'll repost.
