Gee, leverguns ain't all that good for collecting dust and that's the gospel according to Mr. Oliver W. and others of similar mind. Personally I've found them useful in places where I can't see far beyond my nose, but further than I might trust a load of buckshot. It has been my experience that they age well and often do things in old age they never dreamt of doing as kids.

Sometimes their best efforts get foiled by distractions such as rattlebugs gnawing on ankles and such.

Kinda new here so please forgive my ignorance and have a little mercy on a newbie. What's the purpose of the blue and black tape on the end of the barrel and/or halfway up the barrel?

Some gorgeous rifles, game, and scenery in this thread.

Thanks all,
Russell

To keep anything out of the barrel that shouldn't get in there.

If it would get above zero and the wind and snow would stop blowing I could get to the range and shoot it

Here is a pic of my "campfire" 270. I bought the rifle here in the classifieds and the B&C stock and bottom metal here too. I got the idea and instruction for the web paint job here too. Thanks to everyone who contributed, I think she turned out well.

Thanks deernut, she's my first 270. If the wind will ever stop howling here, I've got some loads to try. She showed promise with some factory ammo before I bedded her in this stock so I've got high hopes!
