would you buy one in the first place and if you would, then would you buy one on-line without being able to see the exact gun you would be getting?

I likely would, Dave. Most have been carried a lot and shot very little. They will likely have banged up finish on the area of the grips and possibly loss of finish, but internal wear and tear will probably not be an issue.

^^^This^^^^. Especially if it's a Glock. Wouldn't bother me at all.

I've bought a S&W Model 64, 5906 and 4006 all as trade ins and they have been well worth the money.

I would, I have, and will so again. I bought a P229DAK for 350 bucks. It needed new night sights had some blemishes on the finish, but was in great shape otherwise

I recently bought a Mesa, AZ trade-in 4006. Finish looks almost new and the grips may have a couple very, very small dings. Hell, it even came with the blue S&W box with the matching serial number, not that I care about that. Looks like it spent most of its career in the box instead of being carried.

I have a glock model 22 .40 S&W that I purchsed at a local shop that was a police trade in. This thing had been shot very little and was never carried. I would not hesitate to buy another one. Maybe if it is not from a local shop where you can check it out request a couple of pictures and maybe you can judge a little better of condition before you buy it.
Good luck

LEEDS got my money X2 in that deal for a pair of 2 tones that were immaculate. Clearly detectives guns. $500 each IIRC
