This probably should be in the classifieds but I've seen more info on these caliber right here. I'm kind of looking for a .223AI or a 22-250AI with a 7 or 8 twist.
I'd like to shoot 77gr sierra's (or there about). Anybody have one they'd consider parting with? Any other suggestions on a similar caliber? Point me in the right direction...
Thanks

If wanting to shoot the 77 grainers, look at the 75 gr AMAX. That's where it's at in .223AI.

On a separate note, why not source a Remington action and send to Chad Dixon at Long Rifles, Inc. to be trued with a new barrel? If he turn it around within a couple weeks.

Do you know if they do gain twist barrels. Better to have it start at 1 in 12 and end up at 1 in 7 for the heavy bullets. I think dogzapper did some work on the gain twist barrels. Cheers NC

6 rounds of 75 amax from a mtn contour 8 twist pac nor in 223ai. Buy a cheap donor and get with it. Going to be tough to find a used one is my guess.

You have to supply the barrel if looking to have LRI do the work. Chad is pretty knowledgeable and I'm sure he can talk it over with you. Give him a call and tell him what you want.

Yeah, I think I'll end up building one. I just got a mcmillan scout that is sweet, it'd compliment a good varminter.

Thats a good looking rig! So between the two calibers any persuasion either way?

What are you planning to use the gun for?

The 223ai is a cool little round. I was late to the party, but finally got this one done. I'd do one first, because less is often more.
