Getting ready to start working up some loads for a new .375. This is my first go at working with this caliber. I picked us some Hornady brass and some 280 gr A frames. Does anyone have any pet loads they would like to share or any general advice for loading the round? Any help would be appreciated

For 270 grain bullets, Reloader-15 is popular. Although I've seen folks recommend up to 76 grains, I usually max out at 74.

With 300 grain bullets, I've had better luck with H-4350, usually all I can get in the case...about 80 grains.

I use IMR4350. Works for me in 270gr also.

Thanks guys. I have noticed that almost all loads are compressed to some degree, so I was curious to see how that affected seating depth

69gr IMR 4064, Midway USA 270gr RN "seconds", Magnum Primers. 3.70" OACL (in a single shot Luxus). Enough whallop to knock over what you want, easy enough on the shoulder, and shoots under an 1" at 100.

I find myself liking the 375 more than I thought I would, the recoil seem more of a black powder type "whoomp" than a bottleneck ctge's blast.

My CZ loves 73 grains of R15 with 270 grain TSX's. Norma brass and Fed Match primers. 3.580 OAL and getting 2600 fps.

I know this sounds crazy but the most accurate load in my 375 H&H is 66.5 grains of R-15 and any weight .375 projectile I put on it.

My "go to" powder in the H&H is RL-15 for everything from 235 to 350 gr bullets. It is one of the easier cartridges to load for and works well with a variety of powders. I have used H4895, IMR4320, H335 and IMR4350.

I'm shooting mostly Varget and some RL-15 with 270's. 70-71 grains with either is a mid-level load, pleasant to shoot and very accurate in mine.

I was actually thinking of starting with Varget myself, if for no other reason than I have a bunch of it. It does seem that RL15 seems to be a very popular powder for the cartridge though.

If you have a lot of Varget, give it a try. The H&H isn't finicky so it will probably work fine.

I find Varget, RL-15, and IMR 4064 to be so very close to one and other as ar as application, although some loads work much better with one over the other!

If that 66gr is with a 300 or even a 270gr bullet, it is WAY slow...

Yes 66 grains of R15 is a nice slow - low recoil load jorgeI, but it is accurate in my rifle and kills every whitetail and mule deer I put it through. I went a little wild in Africa and stepped it up to 69 grains for a 300 grain bullet. But they killed oryx and kudu just fine too despite the extra three grains of powder

Ms: I know every rifle's different but I use 74gr of R-15 with the 270gr TSX and 72 w the 300 gr and get right at factory specs. I just wondered what kind of velocity you were getting as those loads are way under given case capacity. Cheers, j

Varget

I used Varget for my load this fall in my .375 with 260 Accubonds.. Did an excellent job on moose and elk.. Have had success with i4350 also.. Re 15 as mentioned is also good, but couldn't locate any when I needed to reload last fall so I went with Varget..

You have made me curios and it was so log ago that I chronographed them to remember but I will try to dig out my notes in the next day or two and let you know!

My notes say that 270 grain bullet with 66.5 grains of R-15 chronographed right at 2400 fps.
