So that's why it didn't want to pop out of the bedding. Wasn't noticed until I put the trigger back on. Thinking that one should not have left the factory. At least I'm not planning to shoot it as is. Sold some stuff recently to have the guys at LRI do me a 6.5x47L and they'll get the action all trued up for a rebarrel. It would be going back to Remington otherwise.

If Remington would sell SS actions for $300, they'd be ahead of the game.

Wow! I would have assumed they used a jig to locate the lug while torquing the barrel.

Vise + ball peen = fixed. Maybe add some heat too.

Crooked lug on a Winchester and youve got bigger problems than a lug.

Holy mother of dog balls!
I swore that the last Remington product I purchased would be the last. Then I find a box of Remington Core-lokts on sale at the local SG store and I buy a box to try in an -06 that I put together. They had mixed up primers (silver and gold in the same box)and shot into a loose 6" ish group. I saved the brass...
Then they come out with a 260 SPS fast twist, and in my weakness, I order one. Haven't received it yet, but when I do, I will be looking it over closely.
Exactly why the last dozen or so rifles Ive purchased have not been Remingtons. Hell, I tried a Marlin XS7 and found a big machine ding in the crown that I fixed myself. I wish Remington had left Marlin alone.
Sheesh! I will keep my old Remingtons from back when Remington made a good product and hope this SPS arrives with no issues...

Terrible! But Chad at LRI will make it all better in short order.

Vise + ball peen = fixed. Maybe add some heat too. Naw, you'd knock the bolt handle off trying to beat the rifle straight with the lug... I'm dealing with a rifle right now that has the scope mount holes drilled perfectly for a left to right lead when the scope is on. Rifle looks at 12:00, scopes looking at 11:00.

U #&#^#&@&# are picky. 85.percent of buyers would never notice that and shoot that gun into minute of deer for the next twenty years.

Yup. So has about every other manufacturer... No one stops buying. Add 20% to retail. Make it cheaper. Sell less units. Make more money. Cow dries move on...
