I've got a really nice hunting grade Model 70 Classic Featherweight in the harder to find 280 Rem. This is a very nice rifle, that has a few honest hunting marks and some minimal wear... and shoots the lights out!

The original stock was cracked, so I replaced it with a factory Winchester synthetic featherweight stock which I was going to bed, but my hand-loads (140gr. Nosler at minimum powder charge)consistently shoot sub MOA at 100 for 3 shots and no more than 1.25 for 5 or more. Has a great trigger!

I painted the stock with sand textured desert tan, and spider webbed it with white and black (looks better than my cell phone pics show). Currently has Talley LTWGT rings and a Nikon 4.5x14 SF BDC Buckmaster on it (not sighted in as I took my Leupold off and put it on my 300 BLKOUT)

I'd like $600 shipped for the rifle with the Talley's and if you want the scope, add another $150... thanks
*If your FFL doesn't accept from an individual, we can split the extra cost.

Paid a lot more for mine. Certainly would not sell for this price. Someone is going to get a good deal.

Did you actually do that or did you have it done? That looks really nice. Can you provide information how one is to do that?

I did it myself... have been doing it for some time now on several (actually most) of my rifles.

I just did the same thing on my AAC Micro 7 only without the white spider web.

I start by wiping the stock with a cloth and Lacquer Thinner (lightly) to clean and etch it.
Then blow with clean air to make sure no dust or "stuff" from the cloth.
Paint with the desired base coat (most often Krylon or Rustolium flat or camo paint).
Then the magic...JoAnne Fabric sells the spider-web paint (on line only) and it has to be applied a certain way, but I can do white, black, or silver and do a few coats to desired coverage.

Once it dries, I coat with a simple matte polyurethane spray for a few coats and... WALLA!

I was toying with doing it as a second job... I've done my Sig grips, Blackhawk SERPA holsters and stuff like that as well. I get a kick out of it and it keeps me busy.

Did a Steyr SBS stock once after stippling the grip areas and it was a knock-out...giggidy!
My best was a HS Police stock that you would lose if you set it down in the woods smile

Now that I think of it, I bet I've done 2 dozen different stocks for friends and family... maybe I should charge them a few bucks. Except for Onpoint... he got me the materials to start with.
