Went to a local gun show and was a bit surprised at how prices for new Glock's have fallen. A couple of the big dealers were offering Gen 4 19's for under $525. I was wondering if this had something to do with the falling value of the Euro.

Glocks have always been in this price range

That's about what I've seen them at for about a decade. Maybe it's just your area.

Must be. Couldn't get a Gen 4 19 for under $600 around here until recently.

You must live in a gated community.

Of rapists.

The problem is that so many people think that you can only get a "deal" at a gunshow. Around here, many prices are cheaper at gunshops.

I just sold a 2 year old G20, with 6" Glock barrel, stainless recoil spring and guide rod, Burris red dot, dies, and some ammo for pretty much what I had in it.

Mike,
You have pretty much described the new Glock 40.

How did it perform on targets and deer if you used it on game?

I didn't get a chance to kill anything with it, but I set it up for hogs. It was accurate, and with the 220gr Buffalo Bore cast load, I am pretty sure it would have done the job. My wife shot it with the Burris sight and was convinced she could kill a hog with it!

I am not a Glock kind of guy. Sold it and my .460 Rowland 1911, bought a .480 Ruger Super Redhawk and a Stainless .44mag Bisley Super Blackhawk Hunter.

Gen 3's have been hovering in the 499 - 509 range for around 7 years. Gen 4's 535 - 550 since their release.

I won't even consider purchasing a Glock (or any other firearm) from Gander Mtn or Bass Pro. Their prices are not even on the radar screen.

I'd call that an upgrade.. smile
