Stopped at a small shop in International Falls right South of the border on the way back from fishing and they had about 20 boxes of the Federal Champion AutoMatch in 325 Round packs. Nothing else.

Place in Spooner, WI didn't have anything.

this guy has to have at least 325,000-350,000 rounds at least in his shop
I did some quick mental math just looking around
2 8ft long fold up tables full of ammo cans 2 levels high with at least 20 cans per table with around 1000-2000 in each can in 50 rd boxes
under the table
case,s stacked 5-6 wide and 2 high
then we had to go to 2 of his closets and look for a brick of the sgb
holy fugg
5-6 shelves in each closet and stuff on the floors in them
with ammo cans on some 7-8 wide and 2 deep and 2 high
all pre labled and priced on the cans
cases on some shelves 4-5 across and 2 high by 1 deep

we could not find the sgb for a little while crazy and he said
I hope they are not at home with my other inventory crazy shocked

I was thinking to myself

the fugging ammo hoarder scalper stories nation wide are true
cause I am seeing it with my own eyes whistle mad crazy

im in it with buying from this guy until his stash becomes my stash
the im done with him

he charges $1.13 more a box than midsouth shooters supply here in town and they never have chit for cci ammo except .17 stuff
(5.86 a box versus,s 6.99 a box is the difference between mid south and this guy)
and what the fugg
this is the only stash of cci small game bullet that I know of currently nation wide anywhere and I have been looking for these since last summer
all the while looking on the fugging web
calling cci
calling distributors
being on notify me list
blah blah blah

and they have been right under my nose here in town 10minutes up the road on the way to fort campbell the entire time in a hole in the wall hoarder /scalper ammo shop only open on Saturdays that I happened to drive by last week on a weekday and it was open

the rumours of ammo hoarders and scalpers are true gentlemen
I have seen it with my own eyes..........................

I was fugging amazed shocked crazy

A Leesburg, VA LGS I visited Friday had a good selection, but prices were insane. These guys give scalpers a bad name.

I was looking over their powder until I saw it was about $36 a pop.

Good guess.

Decent prices on some used stuff, but new stuff was kinda pricey, I thought; i.e. RAR Ranch $499.

I go by there weekly to check on stuff. I have found decent prices on used rifles as well. I picked up my Sako 6PPC and a custom shop Remington in there for a great deal. Both were used.

They had a used Model 43 in 218 bee for awhile and I was tempted, but it looked like someone might have Bubba'd the drill and tap on the receiver.

I agree, their new stuff is ridiculous in price. Some of it is over retail. It is nice to be able to see and handle new items before ordering from somewhere else.

I know one man that has between 20 and 30k of 22 ammo, 10k of .223 + a minimum of around 2k of every other caliber + powder, bullets, primers not much brass because he plans on shooting the factory loads first. He shoots maybe twice a year. He has 1 1/2 bedrooms full of canned goods, beans, rice, gallon jugs of water. Talks about being prepared if TSHTF and he has to bug out.

I asked him one time, if you have to bug out, what all are you leaving behind because there aint no way your little truck will haul it all and I want to know what'll be left for me when I get here. He just gave me a dumb look. grin

Dave.

picked up 2 100rd boxesof cci sv for 7.99 apiece at academy this morning
(6.67 at midsouth here In town and of course they aint got shyt for anything made by cci as usual,go figure)
they had at least a case of it on the counter
and it was around 10 am when I went
they open at 830
the hoarder/scalper crew must have gotten bulk packs of something or nothing at all since azzloads of the cci was still on the shelves
I might run back over this evening when the workers change out and get 2 more if they got any left just for shyts and giggles

it is good accurate consistent ammo
bout 5/8ths-3/4ths inch 10 shot stuff at 50yds
good for curing an itch to go out and shoot some paper at times

Still hard to find unless you go the gouger route around here. I was in a little shop up in Central Mn. last week who I could always count on to have some .22 ammo, and even he's down to some .22 mag, and a bit of birdshot and that's it. I've got 4,100 rounds, and always keep my eyes open for it at civilized prices, but absolutely refuse to pay the vultures that go wait at Wal-Mart for the next batch to come in.

John, did any Power Points ever show up in your neck of the woods? A local shop got some Power Points again, and I managed to score 200 (the limit) today.

Academy had several boxes of .17 HMR on the shelf Sunday, and a fair supply of .17 wsm. Didn't notice any .22 or HM2.

All of the Academy stores in NW Houston have had at least a couple of varieties of 22lr on top of pistol display case for the last several months. I've even seen some at Walmart on occasion.
