My pal came though Casper yesterday and picked up a brick of Thunderbolts.. While not in a local store he was on the phone with Natchez to order brass.. No brass, but he did score on 600 CCI MINI LR HP, and 650 Fed. Auto Match..

His son called later and got the same deal..

LGS had a bunch of 17HMR and various types of 22 wmr on the shelves. They even had a bunch of Remington 33gr. accutips, so I bought a few boxes. My new rifle should love them as my chuckster does...

Yesterday at a local gun show, there were cases of Win. .22's for sale on tables. The best price I saw was $40. a case (500). I was surprised so much was sitting there!
I never saw anyone buying any, however...hmmm?

Last gun show around here they were still asking $70. Didn't see anyone buying that either.

Hopefully no one is foolish enough to pay those prices. Don't give in to those fu ckers... When we start seeing the shelves stock up again they can choke on all the 22lr they've been hoarding and selling for outrageous prices.

LGS had multiple flavors of 22lr last Thursday when I stopped in. Brick of 500 Fed @ $32. Don't recall the exact variety and didn't buy any/don't need any. But they did have some CCI and a couple others as well.

gittin' mo' betterer each week ... now need the prices to come down a bit.

But as it has been said, this schitt has taught me not to shoot much cheap-azz ammo. I collect it, but don't shoot it often.

I am working at the Log Cabin Store in Danbury Wisconsin. We just got a bunch of ammo in and it is going fast. We take whatever the distributor will ship.
$3.99 for a box of 50. Blazers and Federal.
1400 Rd buckets of Remington for $119.95
We have target ammo to.

I think it is a good idea to stock up on toilet paper to. Food and water are never a bad idea either.
Why all the fuss about .22 rimfire? Buy a good quality pellet rifle for the kids to shoot.

I bought a 1400 round bucket of bullets last December at Dick's for $69.99.

Stopped at a Walmart in Clairmont NH today. No.22's at all. Lots of other stuff though.

Nothing in our part of Alabama for several weeks now. Seemed better for a while, then just disappeared once again.

I just bought some more 22 WMR today. 3 box limit, but they had some Hornady 30gr. v-max this time. Nice to see it on the shelves again. They also had a chit load of 17 HMR too.

I've been buying it when I see it at a decent price, online or local, and been able to pick up a little more than 5K rounds of good ammo in the last couple months. Most expensive was CCI Mini Mags at just under $.09/rd.

The last were Federal Auto Match from Natchez.

Academy in NW Houston today had mini mags $7.99/100 and about 7 other types of 22 lr on the counter. My favorite gun prefers the 36 gr hp mini mags so I didn't buy any. Shortage looks to be dwindling at least in Houston.

Local shop had an ample stock of Blazer 500 round bricks at 39.95. Seems to be the new normal.

i hadn't seen any HV Long Rifle in months. Walked into A Sportsman's Warehouse this week and got 1400 Rem HPs in a plastic bucket for 7 cents per round.

I then went to BiMart and got 200 rounds of CCI HV round nose. Every little bit helps.

been shooting velocitors out tree rat hunting

the things are surprisingly very accurate in my rifle

bought a box of 50 out of a sense of curiousity

then ran back and bought 4 more boxes of same lot number

puts a hurt on a tree rat for sure

new rifle
savage mk 2 with fluted bull barrel and green synthetic stock with a bushnell 3-9x40 on it
(gonna upgrade scope after tree rat season and deer season)
it don't like target stuff like my other mk 2 with plain bull barrel does

shoots cci sgb, blazers,40gr minimag and 40gr rn sk hv all to same poi at 50yds
gave the velocitors 6 down in elevation

all 5 types are windage correct

aint gonna play around with any other brands except for maybe the skhv if I can find some that

I have shot the gamut of 22 ammo for accuracy in the plain bull barrel gun and the fluted bull barrel gun with velocitors shoots just as tight
I have just under 350 rounds thru the new gun so far
I wet clean the barrel every 50 rounds then shoot 10 rounds
the punch the bore x2 with a dry brush and x2 bore snake for the second group of 10 and increase the dry brush by 1 more pass and bore by one more pass for each following 10 shot group
read about a seasoning barrel dry cleaning rountine on rimfirecentral web sight
gave it a try

and it works
learn something everyday

velocitors are da shyt with a seasoned bore dry cleaning routine

they blow up tree rat heads

hp velocitors do work. they are faster than Winchester 40 grain powerpoint hp's. our squirrel season opened on aug 15 for another year.

what is all this cleaning the barrel stuff of which you speak?

will the squirrel know any difference?

pinpoint accuracy gus

that 1st wet cleaned group of 10 maybe covers 1/2-5/8ths (rectangular shaped) of an inch at 50yds and the 1st shot is usually a flyer out of the completely cleaned barrel which destroys a 10 shot group

the subsequent dry cleaned "seasoned" bore groups of 10 cover a shot group the size of a rectangle 3/8ths to 1/2 by 7/16ths to 1/2 at the most and their is no flyer in that group
and I got a center firescope on it
gonna upgrade to center fire 4-12x40 or 4-16x40 later on
and that should tighten up groups on paper at 50 yds

I wish I could post up some pics of targets
might get slumlord to work on that for me
photobucket is blocked and my flip phone aint all that techy high speed

and no the tree rats don't know the difference
I love watching gravity take effect on dem little bastages when they get no more signal from the brain
hahahahahahahaaa!!!
