Buy it, if the rest of it looks that nice. Re-cut checkering?

Depends on the price if you should buy or not

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Stock color almost looks like a refinish, but fit and checkering sure don't look redone.

I probably wouldn't have thought twice, even with the sling studs and crappy peep sight. I'd have walked out with it.

I think it might have been refinished cause it looks just to nice for it's age and condition but you can get the price and more back out of it if you ever sell in the future.

I wouldn't hesitate from what I see.

$500 even is a no brainer.

Buy it before I drive up to New York and buy it first!

303 Savage brass and ammo is a seasonal run type thing. Be patient and it'll show up.

If there was a phone number on that price tag, it wouldn't be for sale any longer.

If the stock butt is factory buy it. If it has a kick pad, offer $400. Worry about finding the brass;/ammo later. GW

Buy it then check the numbers. Will make a fine shooter even if the number don't match. GW

Got it.😎 Thanks all for the (good) advice. Buttstock # matched. Cannot detect forearm #. Is it in the barrel channel? May need magnifying glass. Will now reinsert better photos. Thanks again.

Forearm serials normally on the round end that fits against the receiver. While checking that look on the receiver edge that the forearm fits against for a possible model letter on the narrow lip. GW

The stocks look refinished to me too. Put a little red coloring into them and don't look back. Very nice grab!
