Beautiful knife and a very useful pattern. Mine is one of my most used knives.

Thanks gents. Thread started a while back and this was the first time I really took this one out. I think the bird and trout style is a great do all for how I use a knife.

Love this knife - but one comment - the upswept tip makes gutting different as my normal knife position - upside down guided between my first two fingers of my left hand - kept causing the knife to go a bit deeper than I wanted. Something to keep in mind as it is my first knife of this style.

Is it actually upswept? They Ingram B&T's look like they have a straight back design to me.

Trout,
When I was deciding, it was down to the small boner and this knife. In email, Gene said, "the boner is a straight and slightly dropped point blade, and the B&T has a bit of up sweep or trailing point."

I've read of someone on here getting a #4 with no sweep, but cannot recall who.

I absolutely love the knife, just something about this pattern that I thought was worth mentioning.

Thanks for the reply. I have a #1 B&T coming hopefully at the end of the week. I didn't realize they had a slight trailing point. I will have to get use to it.
