The easy, less expensive and better looking way to a No. 1 in 9.3x62 is to find a minty Red Pad in 30-06 with the typical beautiful wood and well finished guts that were standard back then.
Send it to Norm Johnson and poof it will become a 9.3x62.
Case in point Ex Red Pad No 1B in 30-06, now a 300 H&H with a AH fore end (NIB on Ebay), King reflector front sight NIB from the 30s, BBl band from Brownells, custom trigger and the wonderful 6X FX II Leupold.
Honest 1" 3 shot rifle with Federal Premium 180 TSXs and numerous handloads.
Has better wood, fit and finish than even the Boddington 300 H&H.

I snag every red pad with 3-4X wood I can regardless of cartridge or model.
P.S I bought the rifle from a gentleman here who had done the hard work of the cartridge conversion.
