I suppose the good news is Winchester made a lot of .270s

It took me a looooooooong time to jump on the 270 bandwagon. I still say I don't like mine because it makes my 30-06 look bad, and my 06 isn't a slouch either!!!!

I must be slowing down.....I only have three.

Same here but with the wife pregnant with child number 4 I need a 4th so every kid can have there own M70 in .270. Lucky devils. I am thinking a FWT is the next one to join us.

I think a 70 FWT is the new Holy Grail in Pre64 M70's. I see almost everything from a 250-3000 to 458's but not much in a 270 that's a high condition gun. 20 or so years go I bought a 270 FWT but someone free floated the barrel with what looked like a chainsaw. In the ignorance of youth I had it restocked. I have all the FWT's but would like another 270 just for the originality.

I like mine even more since I put it in the Mcmillan:

270 Fwts. do command a premium....the last one that I saw with condition (over a year ago) sold for $1,700.00.

The 270 fwt does pretty good. Here's how it shot in Carl Ross' positional match today:

Not my best shooting, but the rifle is capable enough..

Tell me sometimes how that works, Ive been using the end of my 3350' X 175ft. turf runway as my range, Im still shooting off a cypress table I built out of cowpen lumber using wally world bags. Im thinking of updating range a little bit! very best WinPoor
