Your "round butt" grips are not what I think of when I think of a round butt S&W. To me a true "round butt" would follow the lines of the frame of a round butt frame. What you have is square butt grips that are rounded at the base.
BTW, the new grips sure look nice.

Look nice, bea. Is it these? : grips Would like to hear how you like them. Am trying to find grips I like for two round-butt n-frames and the search goes on. Something a little thinner, but square butt and checkered is what am after. Most are too thick for my liking, but those look just the ticket by description.

Those are nice. I'm gonna wager that you don't change back......

Another plus is the Back strap is open

Personally I never cared for the looks of round butt N Frames as compared to the square butt. For my hands they tend to feel better too when shooting, though both looks and feel are highly subjective. Ropers seem to feel pretty good, though Eagle Classics with their more pronounced palm swell handle recoil better for me. Ropers Eagle Classics
