When I first looked at these their camo stocks made me want to puke. Aside from that, one in either 7mm-08 or the 6.5 seems pretty attractive for some of my tasks. I mean, rehabilitation is just a rattle can away right?
Has anyone here owned or handled one? What were your impressions?
The Howa lightweight is also attractive minus the droopy mag and their habit of being heavier than advertised.

I had my dick beaters on one a couple weeks ago in a shop here. Seemed like a slick little rifle.
That said, I'd probably just buy an 84M and have the tube chopped short and recrown.... Unless you really like the Sitka pattern and some skeletonizing on the bolt....

I looked at one last week in 7/08. It's a neat little gun but I am 6-1 and it felt toy-like and barrel is too short for me. But if you like a 20" barrel it's a neat little rifle.
Very light.

There's a .308 at Renaissance in Tonic that I messed with. A little to "whippy" (if that makes sense) for my 6', 180ish frame. The 84m is mo' betta and I don't see the gain. If they had a standard .308 that he'd trade for my .260, though........

George: Shooters Outpost in Hooksett has a lineup if you are over that way. They also have a Montana or three, along with 84M's.

I haven't been in SO yet, keep meaning to when I'm forced to go to Manchester. I love the .260 but am thinking of consolidating a bit. Sig .308, Montana to match......see my logic I guess I could just rebarrel.

Just curious, but being that I'm a NH Yankee from Hanover/Lebanon/Plainfield, I'm always curious to learn new things about my native state. What is SO?
I do remember Riley's on Route 3 in Hooksett and Wildlife Taxidermy & Sports on the Lake Massabesic traffic circle, but no others come immediately to mind.

Bob would know better in regards to the timeframe, but it seems like the Outpost has only been there for several years or so. "New" to me......
It's closer to 101/93 than Riley's. I'd say it's on 3 (or 3a) but I'd likely be wring. I drove by, but thats not my "normal" area. I've heard good things....

Fine.......you've convinced me. When I get back home I'm going to have to make a trip over.
If I wind up with "another", I'm blaming you.

What were you guys seeing for prices at you LGSs? I like the overall weight of this model and the option of putting a can on in the future.

WTF do you know?......oh ya you need a bazooka to kill deer He'd actually have to HUNT to kill deer. The bazooka would sit in his gun safe/locker, and do as much nothing as he does in CT.

Shooters Outpost is a few miles south of Riley's down on RT3.
Jim Mcloud owner of Manchester Firing Line on Brown Ave in Manchester owns Shooters as well.
They have a large selection of new guns, reloading supplies and 5.11 gear.
I picked up a Kimber Mountain Ascent last week from them. They had several Adirondack's there in inventory like BobinNH said.
