Re-listing this rifle with updated info price and pics. I bought this rifle from local classifieds. Gentlemen had never shot it. I listed this a while ago at $850 but no takers. I was going to keep it and performed the following in prep for a hunt: -Trigger adjust -Removed New Haven gummy bed and added Marine tex. Very minimal bedding material. -Mounted talley LW. Still never shot it but in getting it ready I noticed a pin size dot on rear tang and of course the light scratch on the trigger guard that I mentioned during my last post. Any-way beautiful little rifle and still un-fired!! Lowered price to $775 shipped CONUS.

Thanks!

LOP is 13...someone out there keep me honest. It is shorter than standard LOP of 13.5, I think these compacts are 13, I can measure when I get home.
BBL Length is 20"

Arent't the compacts identical to the Featherweights except for the recoil-pad?

I've got one of these in .308, wish it was a 7-08, and it's a nice rifle and a good shooter. The trigger was horrible on arrival, but it's a "real" M70 trigger and an easy fix. I bought it for my boys, as they come up, so I'm happy to see it shoots decent with cast bullets into an inch at a power level that would easily take northern whitetail out to 200 yards. It's a mini Featherweight, for those who are looking. I have a hard time seeing how this won't go for the listed price.

In my experience, they usually weigh between 6 1/4 and 6 1/2 pounds, most often toward the higher side.

The three I've had experience with have been very accurate. One that was on loan from Winchester for a while, which I stupidly returned. Once I realized my mistake, found another and bought it. The third belongs to a friend, and has taken umpteen pronghorn, deer and elk over the years.

I'll vouch for the one JB had, it's an honest MOA rifle.I did add a 1"pad to lengthen it a bit, but it's a great little rifle. --- Mel
