What are some of your loads? What powders are you using? I bought a 338-06 AI from a guy and all his load data was with IMR 4350, and I can't find it around here.

don't think it will matter much in a 338/06, AI or not...
my 338/06 gets about 50 fps more velocity than a friend's AI version.. both with 24 inch barrels...
4064 has been available out this way recent in volume...
one thing I like about the 338/06 and 4064, is that a 50 grain charge, with a bullet from 200 grains to 250 grains, will give you 2500 fps MV......
sure pressure is different, but still within specs with the 250 grainer... and for hunting purposes under 200 yds, the Point of IMpact is pretty much the same...
at least in my 338/06.... YMMV of course...
If you want to max your velocity, H 380 is the powder to choose..

I haven't had a .338-06 in years, but I got best accuracy with IMR4320 or IMR4064 and a 225 Hornady with muzzle velocity around 2600 fps.

RL19 will get you about the same velocities as IMR4350 W/200-250gr bullets. BL-C2 will get you some of the highest velocities available but burns a little dirty. powdr

Any one ever try Ramshot Tac or x-terminator? I see they list a load for AA2230 on there web site. AA2230 is the same as X-terminator, right?

Yes, AA2230 and X-Terminator are the same powder. Have not tried them in my 338-06 though.

RL-17 gives me 2760 fps with 210 sciroccos out of my 21" barrel 338-06 (NOT AI). Also RL-17 gives me 2700 fps with 225 Accubonds out of the same 21" barrel 338-06.

Reloader 17 gave me 2725 fps with a 225 accubond out of a 24" barrel. Accuracy was excellent.

I have some 250 A-frame work up loads all made up. Just need to shoot them and plan to do that after I come back from my Kodiak goat hunt here in a couple weeks.
